Inaugural Evensky & Katz Charity Golf Tournament Nets more than $22,000 in 2006

Golfers came from as far away as California to participate in the Inaugural Evensky and Katz Charity Golf Tournament held last November 9th, at the Biltmore Golf Course. Working with Coral Gables Community Foundation where Evensky & Katz has a donor-advised fund, David Evensky and his staff are to be congratulated on a flawless first time effort that raised well over $22,000 for Baptist Health Foundation, Mount Sinai and University of Miami Advancement.

The day began with a box breakfast with some time hitting balls on the practice range before the 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on a picture perfect cool and breezy morning. The players were having such a great time that they actually took almost 5 hours to finish the 18 holes. The group met for a buffet lunch in the Granada Ballroom during which prizes were awarded to teams with the best scores and individuals for various other contests. Wolfe’s wines provided each player with wine in their goodie bag as well as cases of wines for the winning teams.

Winning top place as a team were attorneys Ben Alvarez, Ron Rodriguez, Anthony Lopez and Alex Almazan. Winning teams were awarded prizes from Wolfe’s Wines and, in fact, the winning team received a case of wine for each player.

That same evening, Evensky & Katz held the firm’s Fourth Annual Thanksgiving dinner at The Colonnade where clients, friends and golf tournament sponsors enjoyed a fabulous assortment of entrees, yummy sides and desserts. Harold, Deena and Harold Katz were all there to greet everyone with there incredible staff including Roxanne Alexander, Michael Anderson, Mena Bielow, Frank Cuzzocrea, David Garcia, Heidi Graff, Brett Horowitz, Lane Jones, Deana Kelly, Matt McGrath, Martina Schramm, Christopher Snyder and Veronica Vilchez . Among other guests attending that evening were Coral Gables Community Foundation 2006 Chairman Tom Cookson, CGCF Executive Director Gloria Burns, Sunset Quickprint’s John Sorgie and Annie Goodrich .
